What it is
-
The NI-9949 is an accessory adapter that converts an RJ-50 female connector to screw-terminal connections.
-
It is often used to interface devices that have RJ-50 outputs (like certain NI modules) to more conventional wire connections.
-
It is commonly used with modules such as NI-9237 and the SCXI-1314T which use RJ-50 outputs.

Usage & Applications
-
You plug an RJ-50 male cable from a device (e.g. NI-9237, SCXI) into the adapter’s RJ-50 female receptacle.
-
Then, the signals that were on the RJ-50 pins are exposed on screw terminals, making it easier to wire to sensors, instruments, or other circuits.
-
Useful in test setups, labs, or any scenario where you want to avoid soldering or crimp connectors for prototyping or easy reconfiguration.
